    General Questions

Q:  What are the torque specifications for the blade bolts?

A:  We recommend that you keep a copy of the Genesis Operations, Safety and Maintenance Manual in the cab of the excavator. By using the exploded view drawings and bills of materials you can find the bolt size, go to the bolt torque chart and determine the torque specification. Keep in mind that the bolt torque chart has both dry and wet (lubricated) torque specification. Click here to view the Bolt Torque Chart.

    ROTATION VALVE OPTIONS

OPTION A: Auxiliary Valve: Genesis mounts a valve on the attachment that limits pressure and flow, and has crossover relief protection for the rotation motor. Customer provides a rotation circuit from the excavator to the attachment to operate valve and supplies all hydraulic lines including a case drain. Advantage: allows attachment to open/close & rotate simultaneously.

OPTION B: Gear Pump: Genesis mounts a valve on the attachment and supplies another valve to be installed on the excavator to unload the gear pump and provide directional control. Genesis supplies the electric wire harness with foot switch. Customer installs wire harness from the attachment to the cab and supplies a case drain. Customer supplies gear pump and all hydraulic lines including a case drain. Advantage: allows attachment to open/close & rotate simultaneously.

OPTION C: Accumulator Valve: Genesis mounts a valve and accumulator on the attachment that uses the oil from the jaw open/close circuit. Genesis supplies the electric wire harness with foot switch. Customer installs wire harness from the attachment to the cab and supplies a case drain. Advantage: Reduces installation costs and the ability to more easily move the attachment to other excavators.
